Karen moved to the Stony Plain area most recently from Manitoba, Saskatchewan before that, and Southern Alberta even before that. She's moved around the prairies a bit, but she tells us she's here to stay!
As tough as those corporate relocation's were, it's given Karen the chance to focus on what she loves and follow her passion, which is dog training.
For over 10 years she's been involved in dog sports as a student, trainer and a competitor. Both of her border collies have a variety trick dog, CGN and flyball titles, and have participated in many disc trials, fun matches and seminars. One of her favorite things to do was to perform in dog demos for non-profit organizations, The Saskatchewan Roughriders half time show, The Queen City Ex, small town fairs, pet expos, most notably a very chilly outdoor demo for the 101st Grey Cup in downtown Regina.
Her most recent accomplishment is obtaining her Diploma of Professional Dog Training (Dip.PDT) which focuses on non-coercive and positive added reinforcement methods that are rooted in a science-based, professional development education in animal behavior. She's working on some exciting new things for the future as well!
Her training focus is on helping you build a positive connection with your dog, while developing the skills needed for a positive people-pet relationship.
